A little party post for you.

Ultimate Blog Party 2011

Hi, I'm Kristina. And I want to party. Join me, won't you?

[Go here to join up and learn about this insane blog party. Meet other bloggers and even maybe win a prize.]

So, anyway, I'm Kristina, like I said. I'm a mama first and foremost, to the cutest little chub-cheeks ever. Her name is Adelaide. She's almost 3.5 months old (already???) and is the sweetest little piece of person ever! Our lives changed completely once I got pregnant, and I started this blog to document my growing belly. If you go back to the beginning, you can read all the letters I wrote to my child-in-utero, and see pictures of my ever-changing body. Adelaide is wonderful and my days are filled with her drool, smiles, and squeals.

[Adelaide not even two weeks old! I already can't remember her being that small.]

[And now at three months old. She's gotten so big!]

Our Little Lentil is pretty much about her, but sometimes I throw in a little about my husband, Kevin. He's a big guy who looks tough but is really sweet, with a soft spot for the little ladies in his life. That would be me, a foot shorter than him, and Adelaide, a whopping four feet shorter. He builds drums and makes music and tells silly jokes (all the time) and farts a lot. He's also really awesome at making me smile and cooking eggs.

And occasionally I'll talk about me. I'm an elementary art teacher, out on maternity leave until August (oh, I dread August!) so I get to be with Adelaide completely for her first 8 months of life! I love to create, and do so any time I get a chance, in between washing cloth diapers and bouncing a fussy baby. I love the outdoors (so does the little one, and the big one). I have 4 cats. I am vegetarian (the whole family is). I love art and photography and pretty things, including pink skies and polka dots and symmetry.

So that's us, in a nutshell. I can't wait to check out more blogs participating in the Ultimate Blog Party 2011, and hope to make lots of new friends!

Party on!

  4. [Actuary Mom] Yes, I'm very lucky. It took a lot of saving up for this, because I only got 6 weeks paid. July and the beginning of August will be very tight months for us financially before school starts back, but it's totally worth it!

    [CoffeeLovinMom] Thanks for stopping by!

[Kayla Sue] Hi! Thank you so much! I get teary just thinking about how I won't quite remember these days. Thank goodness we have pictures and video, right? :)

  7. Look at that sweet baby, not to be melodramatic but wow...I remember when mine were that small. My daughter towers over me by a good 7 inches now. How did THAT happen?!

Stopped by from the UBP, nice to meet you, I'll be sure to follow.

  13. They do grow so quick... Cute pics! It would be fun to be an elementary school teacher, well that is if I knew anything about art.

[Robin] Thank you! I feel so proud to be able to breastfeed, and I enjoy talking with other mamas about it. She really has changed my life for the best!

[Jessica] Yes, it's fun, but at the elementary level it's a lot more about fostering the spirit of creativity and teaching process, so I bet you could do it!

    [The Gunny Sack] Thanks!

[Kjersta] Thank you! I agree :)

  18. Hey girl! Your little Adelaide is soooooo cute! It stinks that they grow up so fast! Thats so awesome that you're an art teacher! I took every art class I could get my hands on back in high school and went to design school in college for a while so I have a big ole' soft spot for great art teachers :)

I'm visiting back from Sweet Southern Mama!

  19. Thanks for visiting my blog! you have a beautiful family! I'm also stuck with about 20 pounds of baby weight to lose (can I still call it that if she's 2??) I'm a new follower and can't wait to read more on your blog!

  20. you are adorable and so is your little lentil. seriously. i feel bad that you have to go back to work. that would be so hard to do. it will just make the time spent with her that much more special.
    good luck!

  21. [Ellie] Thanks! I found the name Adelaide as a title of a novel I was reading and we instantly knew that it would be our daughter's name!

[Lauren A.] You know, I didn't take a single art class in high school, or even the last couple of years of middle school! I started college as an regular classroom teacher, but quickly switched when I found that I was totally comfortable in my art class!

[Laurie] Thank you! Yes, if you gained it during pregnancy, I'd still call it baby weight! I'm finding it really hard to get the motivation to actually work out and lose those last few pounds though!

[Kelli] Aww, thanks! :) Yes, it will be a tough transition, but somehow we'll make it through!

I love comments! I read every single one and try to respond to most of them (during the baby's naps or in between loads of laundry). I value any and all thoughts, advice, and tidbits that you want to share!
