Fitness goals and cutie pie.

During my pregnancy, I gained a whopping 47 pounds. Yes, you read that right: 47. Luckily it was mostly in my belly, but of course there was a bit spread out over my whole body. And thankfully I was able to shed 30 of those pounds during the first ten days of Adelaide's life, through the labor and delivery (which lasted 32 very long hours!), and breastfeeding.

But that still left 17 pounds, and during the past three months I've only occasionally exercised. No matter what my intentions might be, I always find something else to do, whether it be cleaning, crafting, or napping (all very important, of course!). And I lost an additional 10 pounds.

That leaves 7 to go, and I know I've got to actually try to get rid of these pounds. I've hovered at this point for some time now, and so this week I'm actually going to try to work out a little bit every day. Walks in the park or neighborhood, jumping on the elliptical for a few minutes, or doing a dvd. And hopefully after really giving it a try this week I'll see a new number on the scale and feel a little better too. Maybe that will help me keep going with it.

It does help that the weather is getting warmer. Adelaide LOVES being outdoors so we'll probably be spending a lot of time outside anyway... might as well take some walks! And of course, I know my body will never be exactly the same, but I do have a mommy tummy that I want to slim down now. We'll see how it goes!
